Yesterday we had a short, light snowfall in Toronto, and with the temperatures dropping below zero it seems winter is officially here. I guess this means I need to pull out my winter coat. Last year I purchased this wool blend woven coat with leather trim from Via Spiga. I got it at The Bay during a 40 per cent off sale last November. Such a steal! It is incredibly hard to keep clean, but I received compliments on it everywhere I went.
I’ve also had my eye on these winter boots. Navy, of course! Everyone keeps telling me I need to get a pair of Sorel boots so this weekend I am going to spend some time looking through the website.
Tonight I am heading back to my hometown to celebrate two special occasions. My eldest niece Cheyenne is turning 12, which I am still in denial about, and one of my closest friends welcomed a baby girl into the world last week named Samina. Looking forward to catching up with my family and friends, and meeting new loved ones!
Style Parade Weekly Roundup
- I accompanied one of my best friends, Gemma, wedding dress shopping this week. I am maid of honour in her wedding in August 2015 that is being held at the gorgeous Berkeley Fieldhouse. All I can say after seeing her try on her dream dresses is that she is going to WOW all of her friends and family on her big day! So excited for her and her hubby-to-be!
- On Monday’s Style Parade ‘Wear It’ feature I highlighted my current Oxblood favourites. Yes, Oxblood is actually not Burgundy despite what some people are arguing. Think of Oxblood as a brown-red colour and Burgundy as the colour of red wine.
- Yesterday on Style Parade ‘Live It’ I featured six new, stylish coffee table books to dress up your living room. Which book is on your holiday wish list?
- Don’t forget to follow Style Parade next week as I will be posting some oh so lovely holiday gift guides and style inspiration!
