Tonight I am heading to PROM with a group of my closest friends. In case your wondering, this isn’t your typical high school prom (I graduated from that chapter of my life 12 years ago!)

This prom is an event held each year at the Royal Ontario Museum and is attended by members of the ROM’s Young Patron Circle (YPC) and other young Toronto professionals. This year’s event marks a special milestone as it is the 10th-and final-ROM PROM. Inspired by the exhibition Douglas Coupland: everywhere is anywhere is anything is everything, PROM X is sure to not disappoint. If you’re not familiar with Douglas Coupland, he is a well-known Canadian contemporary artist. Just click here to get inspired. PROM X is expected to be one heck of a party with explosions of colour, live entertainment and dancing.

If you know me personally or have been following Style Parade, you know that the part I love the most about attending events is putting together glamorous outfits inspired by the party theme. Remember my blog posts about Motionball, Boobyball and Operanation?

Here are two glamorous looks I created for PROM X. Which is your favourite? Follow me on Instagram to find out which outfit I wear this evening!

Motionball Gala “Glitz & Graffiti”

Being a girly girl at heart, I love nothing more than looking and feeling glamorous. Last night I attended the annual motionball Gala at The Liberty Grand, which raises funds in support of the Special Olympics Canada Foundation (SOCF). Motionball Gala is Toronto’s largest gathering of young professionals and is held each year in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Halifax. For this year’s Glitz & Graffiti theme there was a “Glitz” Room that had that high-style feel of old Hollywood glamour,  and a second “Graffiti” Room that channeled the streets of Toronto. I went for that old Hollywood glitz and glamour look with a navy floor-length sequin gown from Aidan Mattox paired with black accessories from ALDO. Many people think navy and black don’t mix, but I just love the contrast of the two colours together; it looks very sophisticated if done right.
